Festo is a company specialized in the construction of robot based on an animal model, and his latest creation is a giant drone that moves like a chameleon. The new drone allows you to pick up and transport small items, and is endowed with a language similar to that of a chameleon. FreeMotionHandling, this is the name of the drone, is a mini air balloon inflated with helium that moves thanks to an 8 propeller system, a GPS system and a dual camera to avoid obstacles.

The drone, to carry something, literally sucks the object inside it thanks to a sort of tongue, just like a chameleon that captures its prey. The objects thus "absorbed" can be transported to any point. For now, however, the company does not seem to want to market this type of drone.

However, there could be future applications in particular situations such as building construction sites, where it may often be necessary to safely transport small objects.
