In 2024 a startup, story lines, will open a “luxury residential community at sea” that will include “affordable” accommodations in a cruise-residence where you can live for everything the year.
A life on a cruise
According to CNN, a house on board the 'residential' cruise would have a range ranging in price from 400.000 dollars to 8 million dollars. It would still be a place which levels the differences, don't you think? “We're all in the same boat,” right? I know, this is bad.
The community on the sea, which will live inside of a ship called Narrative, it will have up to two-story apartments with four bedrooms and up to more than 600 square meters (2.000 square feet) of space. The buyers will buy them outright or sign a 12 or 24 year lease.
What if you feel like going down for a while?
No problem. When you're not on a cruise, you can still make money renting the your “house by the sea” to other travellers.
As in any self-respecting 'condominium', however, there is always a price for them common spaces. In this case, in addition to the cost of the apartments, the residents of the community of luxury will have to shell out from 65.000 to 200.000 dollars for a "tourist tax" that will guarantee them all the benefits of the 'lifetime' cruise. There is obviously the cleanliness of the ship, there are services doctors, a subscription to on services demand for TV and internet and other advantages.
The buen retiro
Although the costs may appear objectively prohibitive, the memberships to Cruise life seems plentiful. At least according to the founder of Storyline, Alister Punton. The businessman he says he has already a nice group of future residents: “We have pensioners, children and all other age groups, including the plus types young people of digital nomads”.
It's not a bad idea to live in a palace that the landscape is constantly changing, if you think about it. In 2024 the Narrative will set sail on its first 1000 day 'ride': will cross 6 continents.
