Palestinian sources report the inauguration of the first photovoltaic plant as part of the plan to reduce energy dependence on Israel.
Mohammed Mustafa, head of the project, explains that the inauguration in recent days took place in the West Bank in the city of Jericho, and that this is the first of 4 planned plants, one of which has been donated by China.
Currently, Palestinians rely almost entirely on energy from Israel: within the next ten years the plan aims to reduce this dependence by at least 50% (the 4 planned plants reach 30%).
West Bank consumption is around 700 million euros per year.
