It's going to be a summer full of videos, and many of them won't even be made by humans. Amazon has announced that its Video generator, a free tool for creating commercials, is officially available to all sellers in the US. It takes less than five minutes and (if you want) just one click to get six clips to choose from.. Clips that, from today, no longer limit themselves to showing the product: they bring it to life.
When products come to life without actors
A drill spinning in your hands. A dog wagging its tail next to a doghouse. A watch appearing on your wrist as you check the time. Simple, yet animated scenes with movements, people, animals, logos, music and text effects. No actors, no sets: everything made with artificial intelligence. And with a quality that – according to Amazon – winks at classic advertising, the one from TV commercials.
But that's not all. The system can also summarize existing videos, transforming tutorials and social content into micro-spots.. Or take a simple image and build an animated scene around it, GIF-style. All automatically.
Tech giants' war to dominate AI video
Amazon's launch is not an isolated one: Google recently unveiled Veo 3, which generates lifelike videos with dialogue and sound effects, while Meta is planning to enable advertisers to create ad campaigns entirely with AI tools by the end of next year. As I underlined in this article, artificial intelligence truly represents the future of video marketing, as it analyzes trends and data in ways that were previously impossible.
AI Video Generator: The Democratization That Changes Everything
Over 50% of products advertised with Amazon Video Generator since its introduction had never been advertised before, a sign that the tool is truly democratizing access to video advertising. This Democratization of AI Technology is breaking down traditional creative barriers.
And while we get used to the idea that a seller can independently generate a mini-advertising campaign at zero cost, a fascinating doubt remains: Will we notice when an AI sells us something? Or will everything seem perfectly human?
