For those who have always had an eye for the environment (and for their wallet), something new comes from the world of "green funerals“. A Dutch company has created a mushroom coffin that decomposes in less than two months and costs just 1000 euros.
Called the “Loop Living Cocoon,” this coffin is made from mycelium, the underground “strand” structure produced by fungi, and recycled hemp fibers. Are you ready to become trees? Always as late as possible, of course.

A coffin cultivated and light as a mushroom
Compared to a traditional wooden coffin, which can weigh between 70 and 110 kg and cost several thousand euros, the mushroom and hemp coffin is much lighter at 30kg.
Again: a traditional, regular wooden coffin can last for decades, but if you're eager to embrace nature (we're not, but it's good luck) the mushroom coffin will biodegrade in just 45 days. Inside, the “green coffin” remains coherent, hosting the remains of its guest on a soft bed of moss, with a scent reminiscent of a relaxing walk in a forest. Optional: a sustainable linen shroud and a paint kit (biodegradable) to decorate the final resting place.

In tune with nature to the end
The Loop Living Cocoon is not just a product, but the symbol of a deeper harmony with nature. This coffin is literally grown in just seven days in the company's laboratory in Delft, the Netherlands.
Loop Biotech is committed to customer needs by offering next day delivery in the Netherlands with 100% electric transport. Consistent all the way.
It's not just about selling a coffin, they let it be known. The company is committed to a broader mission to enrich nature and enable a better future. For this reason she has also started a sort of "bond" to purchase. Today you support their business, tomorrow when you, er, need it you will receive the product. In a month or in 100 years. In this way.
Sustainability accessible to all, one funeral at a time. Not only do you help the environment, but you first become "circular". Anything but death: isn't this the cycle of life?
