The project deployed in the Israeli laboratories of Tel Aviv University really has potential. Once again, new technologies are at the service of human health. This is a temporary tattoo that can detect them in real time #facial expressions of the wearer, thanks to electrodes made of carbon.
The tattoo, as can be seen from the photo, is applied directly to the skin, in a non-invasive way.
Each electrode can detect muscle movement and subcutaneous nerve activity. But what is such a tattoo for? In perspective, it could be used for the recovery of patients who have suffered damage or trauma to the face during the rehabilitation process.
It all started while we were looking for a replacement for electromyography, i.e. the neurophysiological test used to investigate pathologies and problems relating to the peripheral nervous system. But this technology could also be used in the study of emotional responses to inputs, in the advertising field for example, or in the automotive sector to check the conditions of the driver.
