The nautical designer max zhivov shares his latest concept of yacht electric with a decidedly “Architectural” appeal. It looks just like a house on the water. It's called “AmperAge”.
Developed in collaboration with naval engineers from AMETA, a company based in St. Petersburg, the ship combines the domestic comforts of a houseboat with the high-tech specifications of a traditional photovoltaic yacht.
How AmperAge, the yacht with the photovoltaic terrace, is made
The AmperAge's hull is made of an aluminum alloy. This gives the boat durability and robustness without a significant increase in weight (also because the battery is not very light). Its particular "sandwich" structure allows for excellent thermal insulation, and the large amount of glass, more typical of houseboats, allows passengers to enjoy the surrounding panorama during the journey.
the layout of the yacht is designed for a comfortable stay of 4-6 people in two or three cabins. The bow interior of the photovoltaic vessel is composed of a command station, a kitchen block and a dining table with a wraparound sofa that converts into a bed. The main cabin is located aft, and includes a full double bed, wardrobe and desk for working comfortably with a laptop. in this room, a huge panoramic window frames a fantastic panorama.
Electric luxuries
The central part of the mini yacht even includes the sauna, in addition to the shower with toilet. AmperAge offers comfortable and independent use from the bow and stern lounges, also allowing the two environments to be separated. The sauna (full size) can also accommodate two additional beds if necessary. On the upper deck, ample space for outdoor recreation. You can sunbathe on two huge sofas covered from the wind by the side walls of the deck enclosure.
And we come to the photovoltaic component, which characterizes the entire vessel. The ship's power plant includes two electric motors, a battery pack, solar panels and a small auxiliary diesel generator in a special soundproof enclosure to provide energy for peak loads during long cruises and during sauna use.
The photovoltaic terrace does not offer complete autonomy, but for most of the navigation you can proceed without the noise and exhaust of a petrol engine, immersing passengers in the undisturbed sounds and smells of the surrounding nature.
