In Dubai they do not miss anything: a land of brilliant prospect and very rapid growth that is experimenting innovative solutions in every field, especially in architecture and transport: Dubai's Roads & Transportation Agency has declared that the tests of the new DroneTaxi personnel are now on the home stretch, and the service should start by next July.
At first glance, the "Ehang 184" passenger drone from the Chinese company of the same name looks like an automated mini helicopter, which makes extensive use of GPS systems to pick up the passenger (after a "booking" via mobile phone app) and transport him to his destination without the need for any pilot. It holds a maximum weight of 100kg, has a flight autonomy of 30 minutes and its range can vary from 40 to 50km, an extraordinary bypass for city traffic and trips just "out of town".
It is not the only field of application: imagine it at work with the urgent transport of organs for transplants. The first tests to do this will be launched in the US state of Nevada.
And you? Would you take it?
