You could save quite a bit #bill, if only more attention was paid. This is why it was born #BiroRobot, a little #robot created by the physical Marco Santarelli, owner of the energy research company ResOn.
Marco explained that a few years ago he had developed an algorithm to optimize electricity consumption among many users, and the system worked. So it was decided to apply it also inside homes, to analyze heat and electricity consumption, depending on the presence of people, then indicating how to avoid waste and, consequently, cut bills.
To do this, however, measurements with sensors in the homes. Here's how it was born BiroRobot, a toy robot with heat sensors inside, a wifi system for connection to the electricity meter and more. The robot is able to understand whether the refrigerator, computer or lights are being used correctly, and so on. Today this little robot can make an energy diagnosis of a medium-sized apartment in just 30 days, mapping it room by room.
For now, BiroRobot is not yet on sale, but it will be next year, at a cost of around 120 euros. BiroRobot can save an average of 18% of gas and 25% of electricity, so the cost pays for itself over time.
“BiroRobot – added Santarelli – represents one educational tool which allows people, including children, to become more aware of their behaviors than energy. It can also be a professional energy estimation tool for companies, recommending potential measures to reduce energy consumption and related costs, also improving the productivity of the plant ".
