The recipient of the new organ is a 53-year-old patient with renal polycystosis, a serious hereditary disease. The #organisms for years, they had never been suitable for transplantation, but now the turning point has occurred. The kidneys of an elderly person may not be fully functional, but what if they were artificially rejuvenated?

The kidney has been rejuvenated thanks to renal perfusion machines (LifePort) recently available in the Milanese facility. In this way the kidney has become more efficient ("reconditioned", in medical jargon) and therefore suitable for transplantation.
