Near future hosted many bike solutions. Retyre wasn't born yesterday, or even last year. Only today, however, can you say that you have overcome your "youth" problems by offering yourself to a wider market. What is it about?
Retyre is a project that I find really well thought out. This is a bike tire system that allows users to add a new tread pattern to their bicycle wheels in seconds. A versatile way to go on terrains of all conditions.
How Retyre works, the bicycle tire system
The key to this solution is a series of rubber “covers” that can simply be fitted over bike tires. The closure, like that of trousers, uses a simple zip. Interchangeable treads can be installed or removed in seconds and remain securely attached even at high speeds or sharp turns.
Initial problems, I said earlier. Yes, there have been, and it is no coincidence that it took two years to develop a more stable version capable of being distributed. alexander g. gjørven, reTyre's chief operating officer, he says on the official website that its development team addressed the fundamental problem. The rubber covers writhed on the bike's "stock" tires, causing the hinges to slip and presenting a potential safety issue.
Now these covers "fit" much more snugly, and with a zipper position that is easier to locate and use.
The first modular bicycle tire system
The combination of zippered tires and zippered tread (a true second skin, not surprisingly called “Skin”) allows cyclists to change tires to suit road conditions in seconds. ReTyre offers four detachable skins. Two “summer” and two “winter” off-road options can significantly increase the number of days in which cyclists enjoy their bikes (even electric ones) even in unstable temperatures and weather conditions.
