Supublic, a Seoul-based brand in Korea, has developed a series of soluble tablets as an alternative to cleaning products and liquid detergents.
There are three different versions of the soluble cleaning tablets: a blue multipurpose cleaning tablet for all surfaces, a yellow one for the bathroom and an orange tablet for the kitchen. Each color features different natural ingredients and fragrances for as many sustainable liquid detergents. The blue one contains natural orange and lavender flavors, the yellow contains coconut and mint and the orange contains lemon and thyme. I do not pronounce myself on color combinations.
How soluble tablet detergents work
The tablets provide a concentration of non-toxic detergents that users can dissolve in water, creating 430 milliliters of cleaning solution. The project gets its name 1N9 Modern Cleaner. A name that derives from the simple ratio of 9 to 1: 9 parts of water, one of detergent.
The sustainable alternative to liquid cleaners comes with a starter kit. Contains three reusable bottles with corresponding code, to be filled and refilled with 1N9 Modern Cleaner tablets so that the user does not have to purchase single-use plastic bottles when the product runs out.
Well, but not very well: experiments like that of Forgo (pointing to a hand soap) do not indulge in plastic, but serve with powder in paper packaging and an (optional) glass container. Come on, Korean friends: let's go one step further. Otherwise, we will have to focus more on detergents in spiderman style or directly on t-shirts that don't get dirty.
