Active in the field for years, and since 2012 with the WASP (World's Advanced Saving Project) project focused on the development of 3D printing with Open Source logic, Massimo Moretti and his team of terrible guys have developed a 3 meters high 12D printer capable of print an entire house in clay, and beyond with excellent potential an entire village.
The presentation of the Bigdelta (and here the name "Big" really fits everything), which took place on September 19th in Massa Lombarda during a happening halfway between the technological and the convivial, showed in action a machine capable of printing an area of approximately 20 square meters. The declared objective is to develop an eco-sustainable and zero-mile production of low-cost housing units, capable of satisfying the needs of developing populations. With little expense you can combine the earth with other materials available directly on site and build a house. A step forward towards the "maker economy", an economic model in which everyone can produce what they need, greatly reducing the supply chain and the energy and economic dispersions that derive from the current economic system.
Good luck to the bee (and his busy hive) guys!
