Smartphones have seen a surprising evolution in recent years, and 2025 promises even more important innovations. Since the arrival of the new millennium, the technologies related to this device have increased in an unexpectedly large way, especially with the invention of mobile networks that have allowed everyone to be connected to the Internet at any time wherever they are.
As a result, the connected mobile phone has become essential for people today and they use it to do practically everything: listen to music, take pictures, work, read articles, play games. Unibet online casino and much more.
Even today, however, the challenge does not seem to end, indeed, the brands that produce cell phones have increased, making the market more heated and competitive. While in the last decade people's choice almost always fell between Samsung and Apple, in 2025 there are many more cell phone manufacturers with competitive prices.
For this reason, choosing the best cell phone of 2025 might not be an easy thing.
The Evolution of the Smartphone
The history of this gadget begins way back in 1983, when Motorola released the first portable phone, called DynaTAC, weighing almost a kilo. However, being a very expensive product, it did not have a very large market.
In fact, we have to wait for the Nokia 3310 (remade in 2017) and the advent of the GSM network in the 90s to find the first case of a mobile device widely distributed, also thanks to the fact that the first SMS could also be sent.
At the end of the 90s, the evolution of the cell phone takes a fairly vertical turn. The curve of the evolution of this device becomes more pronounced since the first real cameras were introduced and above all the first cases of cell phones connected to the Internet came out. This era is mainly determined by the Apple iPhone, which completely revolutionized the market.
From that moment on, the race for innovation became a priority for all mobile phone manufacturers, and so increasingly better cameras and increasingly innovative technologies were installed (just think of the evolution of the keyboard, from T9 to the touch screen, passing through the qwerty keyboard)
What's new in smartphones in 2025
The gold rush experienced in the first two decades of the 2000s has suffered a setback in recent years. The most recent technologies of notable importance are certainly facial recognition and fingerprint and the two-factor security system. But, beyond these two technological innovations, little or nothing has been seen. In the near future, however, there could be a turning point.
Among the major trends that exist and that will improve in the coming years, there is, for example, that of artificial intelligence. One of the changes could be in the way we search with devices. With artificial intelligence, we could have an assistant able to lend a hand and search simply using voice commands.
Furthermore, in the near future there will be a greater use of sustainable materials. The cell phones of the next few years could be made of completely recycled materials without necessarily worsening the technical characteristics.
An important thing for the purposes of environmental respect, for example, could come from Apple and Samsung who intend to adopt ecological batteries and, in general, want to reduce their environmental impact to zero.
Smartphones of 2025 – Which One Will Be Best?
As for the novelties of the year 2025, Apple will announce as always its latest model in the fall, the iPhone 17. Samsung instead is preparing to respond with the models Galaxy S25 and S25 slim, while Huawei will launch an advanced foldable device, the Mate XT Ultimate Edition. Finally, Google and Motorola will come out with their Pixel 10 and Moto G 2025 models.
It's hard to predict which of these models will be the best phone of 2025, especially since many of them have yet to be released, but we can already have an idea of what to expect this year.
