The sea hides secrets and tragedies, and the recent history of Titan submarine disaster it is a painful testimony to this. Yet, despite the tragedies, innovation does not stop. A new technological marvel has just been unveiled in Monaco: Super Sub, a private submarine that combines futuristic design and astonishing speed, offering an unprecedented underwater experience.
Super Sub, the supercar of the deep
Imagine a vessel that can zoom underwater with the grace of a dolphin and the power of a supercar. This is exactly what the Super Sub promises to deliver. With a speed of 10 knots, or 18,5 km/h, it is capable of exceeding the cruising speed of a narigudo dolphin (National Geographic moment) and to be seven knots faster than traditional submarines. Roy Heijdra, Marketing Manager of U-Boat Worx, said owners of the private submarine will be able to “glide behind a pod of sea turtles, sail alongside a swarm of sharks, dive and spin with a pod of dolphins, or navigate swiftly through currents with a powerful barracuda.” Maybe without bothering them, Roy, what do you think?
In addition to its impressive speed, the Super Sub is equipped with a host of cutting-edge safety features. It can descend to a depth of 300 meters, and its 62 kWh battery guarantees an autonomy of around eight hours. But what's really impressive is the life support system of the two-passenger private submarine: it can provide oxygen, eliminate carbon dioxide, illuminate the interior and communicate with the surface for 96 hours, as established by DNV rules.
A tribute to innovation and human resilience
The presentation of the Super Sub in Monaco is not only a tribute to technological innovation, but also to human resilience and courage. In a world where tragedies like that of Titan may shake our confidence in underwater exploration, the Super Sub reminds us that humanity does not stop in the face of challenges. He continues to push boundaries, experiment and seek new frontiers. Without pause, without pause.
