A wavy structure made with wood recycled and covered with photovoltaic solar panels. this is what it proposes NUDE with Solar Mountain, one of the 10 projects selected for the “Fly Ranch”, the permanent space of the festival Burning Man, the eight-day happening in the Nevada desert.
The organizers envision it as a totally off-grid space, which does not depend on the electricity grid. To create its infrastructure, they organized a multidisciplinary design context: the LAGI 2020 fly ranch. The Solar Mountain of NUDES is among the most interesting voices selected to move on to the next phase (that of prototyping).

Solar Mountain aims to generate around 300.000 kWh per year
Solar Mountain is conceived as an interactive installation within the future Fly Ranch, an area that already hosts dozens of hot and cold springs, three geysers, dozens of animal species and more than 100 types of plants. The undulating shape of this solar mountain is inspired by the surrounding environment and aims to integrate with it. It aims to become a space where people can connect to "cultivate" energy, interact and play. grow energy "," interact "and" play ".
The project consists of four large modules, each of which measures 30 meters in length, between 5 and 30 meters in width and with a maximum height of 15 meters. the property also offers relief from the strong summer sun.

Solar mountain is a modular and scalable design system made from recycled wood
Each module is made up of 182 solar panels of 300 watts of capacity, which generate 1.2kWh / day. NUDES estimates that the total clean energy that can be collected by the four modules is 873 kWh. This means that the solar mountain has the capacity to generate 318.645 kWh per year, to be used to meet site requirements and other activities. the structure is manufactured using recycled wood and is designed using net-zero principles.
