The rains always bring with them a feeling of well-being, and God only knows how much it would take every now and then on hot days like these in late June.
Of course, we would also like to have a button to end the rain whenever we want: sometimes the rain is a nice nuisance, especially if it surprises us without an umbrella. This is why the designer Anna Cserba designed the After You umbrella.
After You is a multipurpose product designed to protect from rain when the weather is inclement, but also to transport things when the sky is clear!
Anna, a student at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in Budapest, created this design as a course project. The aim of the course was to completely redesign an everyday object: in this case, needless to say, it was an umbrella.
After You revolutionizes the umbrella in several ways
The first It's hands-free design! One of the most annoying things about carrying an umbrella is having to hold it while trying to carry shopping bags or whatever.
Settling on her shoulders like a backpack, After You leaves your hands free to reply to a message and carry bags.
The second interesting feature is the foldability: the five panels for as many rigid polycarbonate layers fold and open to form a cocoon that protects.
When not needed, the After You umbrella can be carried around with ease, on your back or in your hand.
And here we come to third point plus: the umbrella turns into a bag to hold your shopping!
In short, to summarize: a concept comfortable, light, intelligent, versatile, extremely resistant to mechanical shocks.
A gadget that behaves almost like a small armor, and seems designed for a future of conscious use and resilience.
