The future is already here. If it is true that the smartphone latest generation require more and more energy, and greater recharge cycles, it is also true that science and technology are making great strides to look for new alternative sources of energy.

An example are these shoes that allow you to recharge your smartphone while walking. It is called Vibram Hero, and it is a shoe that allows, through a special technological innovation, to accumulate electricity every time its sole is subjected to the pressure of the body, therefore every time you walk or run. It is a whole idea Italian company, made by Vibram in collaboration with the American company InStep NanoPower.

You can accumulate up to 8 Wh of energy in about 8 hours of walking, enough power to recharge, for example, a smartphone or small appliances. To be exploited is the kinetic energy, which is generated during a walk or a run: it is transferred to an accumulation system inserted in the shoe. In this way, part of the energy produced is recovered and transformed into electric current. The solution is particularly interesting for wearable devices such as SmartWatch e smartband, which do not consume too much energy and which accompany us at any time of the day.

The system Vibram Hero it also has an electronic chip that is able to transmit information related to our physical activity, just like the latest generation pedometers like FitBit. A specification app for Android via Bluetooth it is able to constantly update us on the geological location, the battery charge level, the number of steps recorded and much more. The system also has a USB port on the shoe for possible further connectable recharges. The shoe, being also equipped with GPS, will allow special squads or army corps to locate their members precisely.
