The future is full of things, and it is full of us: it is logical to expect revolutions in every field, from technology to politics, with some slight differences in pace for religion and society. How will it change the way we relate to others? And how will the oldest relationship in the world, the one we have with the opposite sex, transform?
The signs are all there: our morals have transformed over the years and a lot of water has flowed under the bridge since our grandparents were thrilled by photos of a pair of beautiful bare ankles. Pornography has reached an unprecedented level of diffusion and capillarity, and sex in all its forms stands out everywhere, with a wide offering suitable to satisfy even 'niche' needs. Here are some predictions:
Peep World
Voyeurism, in particular, will experience its most paroxysmal phase in the coming years: millions of webcams scattered around the world and video cameras integrated into mobile phones will produce more immediate, usable and 'unsuspected' shows. Long gone are the days of the token put in the 'peep show' to peek at the striptease in a night club, it will be increasingly common to come across 'carousels' of strippers (even unsuspected ones) who will improvise shows even outdoors and in lively situations.
SexRoulette
Even the old erotic chat will have its day: the 'social' vocation of the Internet will also invade impromptu relationships. With the development of 'SexRoulettes' the pleasure of red-light flirting will be accompanied by the thrill of risk: one button and you will find yourself faced with the charms of a woman, a man, a random trans. Borderline situations will certainly occur: think of the surprise of finding yourself fiddling on webcam with your aunt, who cultivates a solitary pleasure beyond the screen that is too similar to yours.
SexDolls
It goes without saying: the inflatable dolls (and 'dolls') will be antiques like the first condoms made of bovine intestine. The Real Dolls of the near future will be heated and equipped with servo motors capable of making them breathe rhythmically and spread body heat and heartbeat. It will take decades before a robot 'learns' to make love (remember the cybernetic gigolo in "Artificial Intelligence"? Jude Law in his most bizarre role) but certain humanoid 'puppets' will only lack a soul (even the word will be guaranteed).
Total Wellness
We don't hide it: the more sex there is around, the less it happens behind the walls. The breakdown of family groups (with the creation of many so-called “one-person families” in the coming decades) will also make sex and meeting more difficult. The demand for paid sex is increasingly broad and meets an increasingly precise, packaged, 'institutional' supply. The sex of the future will see erotic centers as widespread and accepted options as well as tourist villages or spa resorts: there will be season ticket holders, serial packages and it is not excluded that for the elderly there will also be exemptions from health services: the stress and psychological illnesses due to the excessive pressure of our society will make the use of sex as a 'treatment' and relief practice indispensable, in contexts that are reliable in terms of hygiene and organisation.
It's love?
Don't worry: for the last survivors who still have the desire to give each other joy in an emotional relationship, there will be no shortage of toys capable of giving mutual satisfaction. The sex-toy market now represents a majority portion of the profits linked to eros, and it is easy to foresee how many of the 'unsuspected' technologies that today reside in cars and computer gadgets will find brilliant applications between blankets or in alcoves. Just one example (and don't call me a pervert): what would you say about a 'love seat' equipped with gyroscopes and able to change its shape based on the position that you or your partner takes during sexual intercourse? ?
Future of Sex
Don't be scared: the future sex of the 2500s will only be affected by the radical changes that society and individuals will achieve. Two major directions in this small speculative vision: genetic engineering and cybernetic implants. Goodbye to Viagra and Cialis, sooner or later individuals will be born genetically predisposed not to fail in bed and to have satisfying erections, or future women 'designed' to always have an orgasm. In the same way, it will be possible to 'increase' horizons and performance through the implantation of mechanisms and devices: it will no longer be a pitiful resort to prosthetics, but a 'status' that one wishes to obtain (a bit like cosmetic surgery for many girls today ) and which will be reserved only for wealthy people, in a future society that could experience a new division into 'castes' that have technology and not family lineage as their discriminating factor.
