The future is full of things, and it is full of us: it is logical to expect revolutions in every field, from technology to politics, with some slight differences in pace for religion and society. How will the way we relate to others change? And the oldest relationship in the world, the one we have with the opposite sex, how will it be transformed?
The signs are all there: our morale has changed over the years and a lot of water has passed under the bridge since our grandparents got excited in front of the photos of a pair of beautiful bare ankles. Pornography has reached an unprecedented degree of diffusion and capillarity, and sex in all its forms stands out everywhere, with a wide offer suitable to satisfy even the 'niche' needs. Here are some predictions:
Voyeurism, in particular, will experience its most paroxysmal phase in the next few years: millions of webcams scattered around the world and video cameras integrated into mobile phones will produce more immediate, usable and 'unsuspected' shows. Gone are the times of the token put in the 'peep show' to peek at the striptease in a night club, it will be increasingly common to come across 'rides' of strippers (even unsuspected ones) who will improvise little shows even outdoors and in busy situations.
Even the old erotic chat will have its time: the 'social' vocation of the Net will also invade impromptu relationships. With the development of the 'SexRoulettes' the pleasure of red light flirting will be accompanied by the thrill of risk: a button and you will be faced with the graces of a woman, a man, a random trans. The limit situations will occur and how: think of the surprise of finding yourself tinkering on the webcam with your aunt, who cultivates a solitary pleasure too similar to yours on the other side of the screen.
Needless to say: inflatable dolls (and 'dolls') will be antiques like the first condoms in bovine gut. The Real Dolls of the near future will be heated and equipped with servomotors able to make them breathe rhythmically and to diffuse body heat and heartbeat. It will take decades before a robot 'learns' to make love (remember the cybernetic gigolo of "Artificial Intelligence"? Jude Law in his most bizarre role) but some humanoid 'puppets' will only be missing a soul (even the word will be guaranteed).
We do not hide it: the more sex there is, the less you have it in the shelter of the four walls. The breakdown of family groups (with the creation of many so-called "one-person families" over the next few decades) will also make sex and dating more difficult. The demand for paid sex is ever wider and meets an ever more precise, packaged, 'institutional' offer. The sex of the future will see erotic centers as widespread and accepted options as well as tourist villages or spas: there will be season ticket cards, serial packages and it is not excluded that for the elderly there will also be exemptions from the health services: stress and psychological illnesses due to the excessive pressure of our society will make it essential to resort to sex as a practice of 'cure' and relief, in reliable contexts in terms of hygiene and organization.
Do not worry: for the last survivors who will still have the desire to give themselves joy in an emotional relationship, there will be no lack of toys capable of giving each other satisfaction. The sex-toys market now represents a majority slice of the profits linked to eros, and it is easy to predict how many of the 'unsuspected' technologies that today house cars and computer gadgets will find brilliant applications among the blankets or in the alcoves. Just one example (and don't call me a pervert): how about a 'love chair' equipped with gyroscopes and able to change its shape according to the position you or your partner take during an intercourse ?
Future of Sex
Do not be frightened: the future sex of the 2500 will only be affected by the radical changes that society and individuals will reach. Two great guidelines in this small speculative vision: genetic engineering and cybernetic implants. Goodbye to Viagra and Cialis, sooner or later there will be individuals genetically predisposed not to fail in bed and to have satisfying erections, or future women 'designed' to always have an orgasm. In the same way it will be possible to 'increase' horizons and performance through the implantation of mechanisms and devices: it will no longer be a pitiful use of prosthetics, but a 'status' that one wishes to obtain (a bit like cosmetic surgery for many girls today ) and that it will be reserved only for wealthy people, in a future society that could experience a new division into 'castes' that have technology as a discriminating factor and not family lineage.
