In the age of speed and uncertainty, the ability to look ahead and interpret the signs of what the world might offer is essential. The future cannot be "guessed", but if possible it is built starting from small signals, intercepting the weak currents of change, to transform every challenge into an opportunity for growth and innovation. How is it possible to do this methodically?
Learning to build and explore the future: understanding and applying foresight
The strategic forecast, o strategic foresight, emerges as a fundamental discipline for individuals, organizations and societies that aspire not to be mere spectators of tomorrow, but active protagonists in the construction of a desirable future. It is precisely in this context that the course offered by fits in Forwardto – studies and skills for future scenarios (the network which Futuro Prossimo is also part of) e Tech4future. This is an introductory training course on futures studies, strategic foresight and transformative innovation. Through five online sessions plus an introductory one, the course aims to equip participants with the tools necessary to experiment with Foresight and Futures-driven Innovation, essential techniques for anticipating and actively shaping the future.
A “school” for designing future scenarios
A crucial part of the program concerns the exploration and planning of future scenarios. Participants will be guided in using advanced methodologies to project and evaluate possible alternative futures, allowing them to experiment with worldviews that can vary dramatically based on current choices. This process not only enriches critical and creative thinking skills, but also provides a solid foundation for strategic innovation. Three teachers act as guides in this journey: Alberto Robiati (the director of Forwardto specialized in foresight who I have the honor of accompanying in the column we keep together on Fatto Quotidiano), Nicoletta Boldrini (journalist and communicator), Beppe Castellucci (coach and facilitator of learning processes).
The final focus of the course? Transformative innovation
With the right discipline, enthusiasts, legislators and professionals can respond to future challenges with radically new and sustainable solutions. Through lessons, exercises and discussions, participants will discover how to transform strategic visions into concrete action programs capable of driving positive change in organizations, communities and society globally. The training course includes live sessions on Zoom, complemented by in-depth materials and opportunities for individual study. The Miro platform, however, will be used to facilitate interactive and collaborative learning, essential for the success of the training process. Recorded sessions will ensure flexibility and accessibility for all participants.
