Who among us has never returned clothes to the store because they didn't fit? Things of the past, in the near future: soon there will be no more problems. In no case, whatever shape our body will have.

Petit Pli, clothes become "responsive"

Dresses

London-based wearable technology company Petit Pli is known for designing children's clothing that grows up with little wearers. He has now perfected this approach, making adult clothes that contract or expand seamlessly to fit any body shape and size.

Even during all stages of pregnancy, stretching during the nine months to support "extreme anatomical and physiological changes" and shrinking soon thereafter.

How are Petit Pli dresses made?

Made of monofiber polyester, the soft clothing unisex and one-size-fits-all, it is comfortable and highly versatile. Even at the end of its (very long) life cycle it is more recyclable than others, requiring less energy to break down than normal mixed fabrics.

Ryan Mario Yasin, founder and CEO of the company, explains that Petit Pli dresses focus on particular areas of the body to fit the wearer's body. Bust, armpits and waist: areas that, says the co-founder Arabella Turek, they can "in pregnancy they can triple their size within a few weeks".

Dresses
A Petit Pli garment follows a woman throughout her pregnancy, adapting to changes in her body and returning to its original shape after giving birth.

A whole range of adaptive clothes

The range includes outer and inner vests, as well as trousers, all made with elastic bands at the waist or hem for a perfect fit. The clothes contrast the typically shapeless and loose shapes of unisex clothing and hug the body, regardless of its shape or size.

Dresses

The “one-size adult fit” collection could also eliminate the need to return clothes due to size issues, a significant factor in fashion issues.

The Petit Pli Adultwear, presented on 2 July, is already available for pre-order: if you want to tie yourself to a dress for a long time, take a look here.
