Who among us has never returned clothes to the store because they didn't fit? Things of the past, in the near future: soon there will be no more problems. In no case, whatever shape our body will have.
Petit Pli, clothes become "responsive"
London-based wearable tech company Petit Pli is known for designing children's clothing that grows with little wearers. Now it has perfected this approach, making clothes for adults that contract or expand seamlessly to fit any body shape and size.
Even during all stages of pregnancy, lengthening during the nine months to support “extreme anatomical and physiological changes” and narrowing soon after.
How are Petit Pli dresses made?
Made of monofiber polyester, the soft clothing unisex and one-size-fits-all, it is comfortable and highly versatile. Even at the end of its (very long) life cycle it is more recyclable than others, requiring less energy to break down than normal mixed fabrics.
Ryan Mario Yasin, founder and CEO of the company, explains that Petit Pli clothes focus on particular areas of the body to adapt to the wearer's body. Bust, armpits and waist: areas that, says the co-founder Arabella Turek, they can “triple their size in a matter of weeks during pregnancy”.
A whole range of adaptive clothes
The range includes outer and inner vests, as well as trousers, all made with elastic bands at the waist or hem for a perfect fit. The clothes contrast the typically shapeless and loose shapes of unisex clothing and hug the body, regardless of its shape or size.
The “one-size adult fit” collection could also eliminate the need to return clothes due to size issues, a significant factor in fashion issues.
