The Start-Up that designed and built Witty Power is all Italian. It's a smart little plug-in that can "talk" to any device that needs power and charges it just right to optimize its battery performance.
Lorenzo Craia, Andrea Tognoli e Luca Martini are the three Roman engineers who designed and built the device Witty Power.
Craia is a Management Engineer specialized in business management, with multinational experience. Tognoli is a mechanical engineer, while Martini is a PhD. in Electronic Engineering, specialized in Electronic and Photonic Technologies, with work experience at the ENEA Casaccia research center.
Their Startup participated in DigithOn 2020, ranking among the best 25 in Italy.
The smart plug that manages devices

It helps recharge (among other things) but does not recharge: it acts as an intermediary between the plug and the power supply wire of all the devices provided for a USB type A input up to 5V and 4A Max, and with an adapter it also works with all devices USB Type-C input. By hook or by crook, Witty "talks" to all kinds of devices.
And it has a mission: to change as few batteries as possible during the life of a device. Good for you, and good for the environment.
To produce lithium batteries (now very common) that allow our devices to work, liters and liters of water are used (over 1000 to extract just one kilo of lithium). Not to mention the costs and difficulties of disposal.
If only 10% of the world population used Witty, annual savings of 144 million batteries, 863 tons of lithium and almost 2 billion liters of water could be achieved.
From a Startup statement
Objects that redefine the concept of status and style
Minimal but colorful, "smart" but essential. More than intelligent, it is a prudent object. One of those gadgets that meet the need for greater awareness on devices and on energy consumption: does not serve the status. It is an object of style, yes, but of the lifestyle that we should adopt to protect the planet.
And indeed Witty is not a simple innovative and intelligent device, let's talk about a real lifestyle that we should all adopt to protect the world we live in.
On charging management: Witty Power does with all devices (I mean all: even mp3 players, joypads, etc.) what a high-end device (an example: iPhone) does with its optimized charging function. It does not waste energy by damaging the battery: in case of overnight charge, to say, 100% stops the power supply of the device, preserving the battery and maintaining autonomy and performance.

Did I say "like high-end devices"? I was wrong: BETTER
Some latest generation devices, as mentioned, are equipped with features that allow you to protect the battery of your device. From the IOS 13 version onwards, Apple has accustomed its users well. Not as good as Witty, though.
"Apple's function is at the software level and driven by machine learning," say Witty's founding engineers.
"This is why it is subject to many inaccuracies. If we don't have fixed schedules or if we have a busy life, for example, the iPhone will never know when we will disconnect the power supply from the phone and therefore we could end up with a blocked recharge that will not be able to hold up until the evening. Another example could be connecting the phone to the computer while working in the office, another parameter that destabilizes machine learning, and therefore the whole process. "
In other words, if you need a pocket energy coach, you know what to buy. And you also know you are paying less! For all Futuroprossimo readers who want to try Witty, the startup has provided me with a code that entitles you to a small 5% discount.
