The confirmation comes directly from the Japanese house: on the new vehicles the standard equipment will include side cameras instead of the historical mirrors, and it is a historical passage.
Inside the car, two 6-inch displays will show the external view of the passenger compartment, integrated in the dashboard in an ergonomic position.

Super view
The driver can choose between a standard and a "wide" viewing mode which will further extend his field of vision up to 50% reduction in blind spots, adding more visibility even when reversing.
The cameras will also be water repellent thanks to a special treatment, and will have a conformation suitable to deflect water droplets.
The brightness levels of the displays will automatically adapt to the environmental conditions ensuring more clarity even at night and in low light.
The first models that will see the farewell of the side mirrors will go into production by the end of the year in the UK, Germany, France and Norway.
