The French Minister of the Environment, Segolene Royal, has personally traveled this first stretch of photovoltaic road and has announced the government's willingness to build roads of this type also in other areas of the country.
La solar road it is the result of a new technology, but very expensive: in fact they serve well 5 million euros for one kilometerprohibitive costs for a generalized use. For now, this kilometer is only a prototype, which will remain under observation for two years to verify that the coating sufficiently protects the photovoltaic cells from the weight of the cars.
There is also the problem due to the horizontal position of the #solar panels, which make less than the inclined ones.
