A few words about the village
Tyrol It is undoubtedly one of the most charming villages in South Tyrol. Its main attraction is Castle Tyrol (Schloss Tirol), former residence of the Counts of Tyrol. It dates back to the 13th century and today houses the Historical-Cultural Museum of the Province of Bolzano. The castle is not open year-round; it is generally open from March to early November.
A short distance from Castel Tirolo is located Castel Fontana, now home to the Agricultural Museum and known for having been, for some years, the residence of Ezra Pound.
Also noteworthy is the Parish Church of the village, consecrated to St. John the Baptist.

One of the best known traditions of South Tyrol is the Christmas marketsDon't miss what will be organized in Tirolo (Advent at Castel Tirolo), with Christmas concerts, a nativity scene exhibition, children's entertainment, and stands selling traditional artisanal products. It is open from November 28th to 30th and from December 5th to 8th.
It is also remembered that Lana Christmas Market (“Stardust”), which this year will be open from November 28th to December 31st.
