Looking at the new products at CES 2025, you might wonder whether the designers took science fiction movies too seriously. TVs that deform, shoes that self-massage, robots that pick up socks from the floor. Yet behind these apparent extravagances lies a precise vision: to make technology increasingly integrated into our daily lives, but in a useful and meaningful way. We had anticipated it on the eve: it would be an AI orgy, but it's not just that. Let us recap Day 2 of the event (historically the "fattest" in terms of new products).
CES 2025 New Products That Will Redefine Your Living Room

I've always been fascinated by how CES can transform everyday objects into something extraordinary. Take the table lamp by govee: it is not just a lighting device, but a real audiovisual show. With the speakers JBL integrated, it pulses with light in time to the music, like a modern lava lamp enhanced by artificial intelligence.
And do we want to talk about TV? Samsung Display presented a screen that physically deforms based on the images reproduced (you can see it in the cover photo of this article). It reminds me of those old 3D movies, but this time the screen actually moves. Spoiler: I don't foresee a short-term future. Then there is the DisplaceTV, which we can attach to any surface thanks to powerful suction cups. It works on battery, so no more cables hanging from the wall. The Samsung Frame Pro, finally, it focuses on elegance: when you are not watching content, it transforms into a work of art, now with a completely wireless connection to the external box.

Those for personal well-being

Nike has brought something truly special: “recovery” shoes to regain strength, which seem to have come out of a Zemeckis and Tim Burton ensemble film. They apply compression and heat to the feet and calves, helping athletes recover more quickly. They are not just a concept: they have already been used at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Smart glasses by Halliday XR I was particularly impressed: they finally look like normal glasses, not technological devices. A small integrated projector displays useful information in the field of vision, controllable through a smart ring. I talked about it here, if you want to read more.

CES 2025 Productivity News

The laptop Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable It is one of those innovations that make you say “wow”. The screen literally unrolls, going from 14 to 16.7 inches. It is like having a second monitor always with you, but without the extra weight: if by “weight” we do not mean the price, which is a small blow (around 3000 euros).
Smartwatches could take a leap in quality thanks to the new display micro LED di Samsung. With a brightness of nearly 4.000 nits, it makes the Apple Watch Ultra 2 look almost dim in comparison. It's just a prototype for now, but the future looks… bright (sorry for the pun).

The kitchen of the future is already here with the microwave LG Signature Smart Instaview. A 27-inch display and multiple cameras turn it into a personal chef. Will it actually cook chicken nuggets perfectly in 2026, when it’s supposed to hit the market? I’m asking for a 7-year-old friend who is accidentally my daughter, and accidentally wants to cook the crap herself (when my poor eyes aren’t watching her do it).

BioLite thought of a problem we've all faced: blackouts that spoil food in the fridge. A UPS for the fridge? Yes, sir. Their backup battery plugs directly into the fridge, providing up to two days of battery life. No more spoiled milk! For those with green fingers, LeafyPod has created a smart vase that “talks” to plants. It monitors water, adjusts irrigation, and gives advice on sun exposure. With a reservoir that lasts four weeks, we can finally go on vacation without worrying about our plants.

The solar car Aptera she's a great, old acquaintance of ours: do you remember her? It can travel up to 40 miles a day using only solar energy. It is light, aerodynamic and, even if it can only accommodate two people, it is a step forward in sustainable mobility. Now it comes out of the limbo of "yes, but is it fake?" to be seen: who knows when it will actually be possible to buy it.
Meanwhile, Donut Lab is completely rethinking the way electric vehicles move with its donut-shaped engine. Here too, as is often the case with some electric vehicles, instead of a central engine, each wheel has its own propulsion system. The result? More efficient vehicles with greater range.

CES 2025 News for Everyday Life

Swippitt promises to solve one of the most annoying problems with smartphones: charging. Their system replaces the battery in just two seconds. It costs about $700 for the hub and a case, but it could be the perfect solution for families or small businesses on the go. I don't know, Rick ...
For those who hate housework, the robot vacuum cleaner Roborock Saros Z70, even the news is talking about it (that's when you say "attention-grabbing") has a mechanical arm that can pick up socks and underwear from the floor. It's not only practical, but also surprisingly fun to watch.

A look into the future
The CES 2025 news shows us a future where technology becomes increasingly integrated into our daily lives, but in a more natural and less invasive way. They are not just gadgets, but solutions to real problems. Yes, they are still a bit bizarre things, but we can already imagine their daily use.
I was struck by how many of these innovations focus on sustainability and energy efficiency. From the battery-backed refrigerator to the solar car, it seems like the tech industry is finally taking environmental challenges seriously. Sure, some of the price tags are still eye-rolling (I'm looking at you, suction-cup TVs), but it's the nature of CES to show off the high-end versions of new tech first. Over time, many of these innovations will become more accessible. In the meantime, we can dream of a future where our plants talk to us and robots pick our socks for us. Like it? Don't like it?
