What happens when adventure meets the city, and ruggedness merges with urban agility? The answer is DUNE, the latest bold jeep concept that defies all convention in the world of light quadricycles. Klissarov Design, an independent studio based in the French Riviera, has unveiled its latest project on the occasion of the French national holiday (July 14, Bastille Day): Jeep DUNE, a vehicle in the L6E category (light quadricycle, +14 years, without license) which aims to conquer the European Alpha Generation with the Jeep brand.
The innovative basis of the jeep concept
DUNE is based on the Citroen Ami, shared among the Stellantis brands, but reinterprets it in a Jeep key with a bold design and unique functionality. The first "impression" we take comes directly from its open-air philosophy and its robustness, which despite its very small dimensions shows the Jeep DNA to the full. Like other developments based on this platform it features identical parts for the body sides and door bars, as well as the front and rear mask, bumper and skid plate, optimizing production. But there is great space, this is also news, for customization.
Jeep, custom and Rock & Roll
One of the strong points of this jeep concept is its extreme customizability. DUNE can be adapted to increase cargo space or for specific activities and lifestyles. Customization also extends to aesthetics, with the possibility of applying graphics through the Hydro Dipping technique. The concept integrates innovative solutions such as a sliding charging port in the rear light bar, uses perforated printed fabrics on the door bars, combining functionality and aesthetics. Did I already say bold? I think so.
The aesthetics of DUNE: A visual analysis
What is immediately striking is its design: a salute to the future that does not sacrifice the Jeep essence. The vehicle presents a compact but robust silhouette, with clear and decisive lines that convey a sense of strength and agility. The color combination is particularly eye-catching: the dominant black of the bodywork is enlivened by bright lime green accents, creating a dynamic contrast that attracts the eye and underlines the shapes of the vehicle. This visually attractive color scheme seems designed specifically to attract a young and trendy audience.
Oversized wheels with aggressively treaded tires hint at off-road capabilities, despite the vehicle's compact dimensions. This design element creates an interesting contrast between the urban look and the adventurous soul of the DUNE. The open structure with integrated roll cage obviously recalls the Jeep heritage, but also offers a sense of freedom and connection with the external environment, perfect for urban use and short excursions outside the city.
The most intriguing detail for me? You would never guess it. It is the "pixelated" texture on the side of the vehicle, which gives a camouflage and personal feel. A fusion between technology and nature, familiar and combative at the same time. Like the entire concept: this thing maintains the Jeep essence while pushing into unexplored design territories. Perfectly at ease, both in an urban environment and in a more adventurous context.
The future of urban mobility according to Klissarov and this Jeep concept
Emmanuel Klissarov, the designer behind DUNE, brings his extensive experience in automotive design to this innovative concept jeep project. His vision combines traditional automotive aesthetics with new trends in urban mobility, creating a vehicle that stands out in the light quadricycle landscape.
For me it is a good step forward in the design of the urban mobility sector. Combining the brand's iconic DNA with innovative solutions and eye-catching design, this Jeep concept could truly redefine expectations for urban vehicles of the future, offering a unique driving experience that speaks directly to Generation Alpha. Well done, Emmanuel :)
