We have asked ourselves more than once, here, if the "global fight against aging" undertaken by many laboratories and companies will have a positive outcome. For David Sinclair, Harvard molecular biologist, the answer is yes. The scientist claims to have reversed his aging process by following four principles.
Ten years younger
The DNA of the genetics professor at Harvard indicates a biological age of 43 years: chronologically he is exactly 10 years older. And all this, he says, thanks to a mix of supplements, stress management and intermittent fasting. Four points in his youth "routine".
The first step is doing aerobic exercise at least three times a week. Nothing new, exercise is known to promote healthy muscle growth, as is known to exceed 8 hours of sedentary behavior daily it is as deadly as smoking.
The second “trick” is to drink matcha green tea once or twice a day. Also here… Several studies have highlighted its health benefits, so it doesn't hurt to add it to your daily diet.
The third ingredient of rejuvenation is food. To practise intermittent fasting and taking supplements based on resveratrol, a compound that seems slow down the aging of organs in the body.
Finally, the fourth step is to avoid idiots and rude people as much as possible. By reducing stress, biological age is also lowered, says the Harvard professor (e more than one well-known study).
And we needed Harvard?
I emphasize that the actual effects of these steps on human life longevity are still being studied. David Sinclair's statements offer an inspiring point of view, but don't take them as medical advice: the science behind these methods is still under development.
While these steps may have health benefits (with variations from individual to individual) it is critical to continue studying their effectiveness in slowing aging. Sinclair himself, who on the subject of aging and longevity it is studying much more incisive dynamics and processes, you know.
For now, let's not consider them as a miraculous solution to rejuvenate, but as a starting point to improve our well-being.
