For his Master's thesis at the University of Hochschule Pforzheim, the designer Joonyoung Koo he spared no energy. Called to show all the future possibilities of the autonomous vehicles, has come up with a project that leaves you speechless.
A four-wheeled paradise outside…
EDEN is a car that focuses on artificial intelligence and autonomous driving, and aims to create a new "multipolar" relationship between humans and machines.
On the outside, this autonomous concept car features a futuristic design and fluid lines that converge (and end) in an open front. The bonnet is crossed by a line of LED lights which illuminates the surrounding environment with a distinctive and unmistakable beam of light.
…It's inside
The part that really amazes is the interior of NIO EDEN: the sliding doors and roof of the concept car come together in a large opening that reveals a spacious and luxurious interior, worthy of a spa.
It is precisely this "shell" shape that merges doors, windows and roof into a single element that is the hallmark of Koo's work. In my opinion it creates a truly spectacular opening. And once you enter, what do you do?
Concept car spa
Once inside NIO EDEN you find yourself immersed in an enveloping atmosphere, with two reclining seats and soft furnishings. In the centre, a rotating sphere acts as the main control (it reminds me of the controls from the film "Navigator", who remembers that?) allowing you to go from an engaging driving experience to a moment of relaxation in total comfort.
The idea behind the concept car is to create a car that allows passengers to experience an interior dimension, while enjoying the most advanced technologies.
A perfect harmony that promises us a future of cars that no longer meet the sole definition of "vehicles". A future in which, if we want, we can travel (also, but not only) resting and arriving at our destination much, much more relaxed than when we left.
