One day you could open a porthole, go in, lie down, set a nice complete cycle and come out soft, clean and fragrant. Complete with prewash! The Japanese technology company Science Co, which specializes in bathroom and kitchen innovation, recently unveiled plans for special washing machines for humans.
I said “Japanese company”, so I already know you won't be surprised. You've seen toilets capable of quota the work, produce energy, generate biogas and even do clinical analysis: what do you want washing machines for people?
The idea actually dates back to 1970 (also in Japan). At the Osaka Expo, the Sanyo Electric debuted an “ultrasound bath” that would automatically clean, massage and dry anyone inside in 15 minutes. It sounded ambitious, and they failed to commercialize the invention: now another Japanese technology company we try again.
Project Usoyaro, human washing machines or home spas?
The human washing machines will be part of a product line called Mirable. The project, code-named "Usoyaro", involves nebulization technology and an on-board computer capable of building the perfect complete washing experience around those who close themselves in the cabin.
The objective, let us know Yasuaki Aoyama CEO of Science Co., is not only to thoroughly clean the user's body, but to offer a space of complete relaxation to regenerate body and spirit, complete with relaxing music and images spread on water-resistant displays. More than washing machines, in short, small spas.
Sensors inside the washing machine will measure the state of the sympathetic and parasympathetic nerves, and the built-in artificial intelligence (oh, no, here too!) will use the collected data to create the most comfortable atmosphere possible.
Project Usoyaro will be ready by 2024, and presented at the 2025 Osaka Expo, exactly 55 years after the initial project. Will he be able to open the era of washing machines for humans this time?
