Come on, no one really wants to pee in a shot, then take the shot to a guy and get him analyzed. So, long live the Israeli startup Olive diagnostics who seems to have found a way to entrust the analysis of urine to artificial intelligence: and without a glass, too.
The Jerusalem-based company uses an optical sensor and an AI-powered device to perform urinalysis in real time. It has already raised more than € 7 million from investors and I don't think so will end up like Theranos.
Olive diagnostics was founded in 2019 by the CEO Guy Goldman and Corey Katz. The startup team includes experts in biochemistry, chemistry, physics, data analysis, optics and other disciplines. Its flagship product, Olives KG, is the first device in the world based on AI and spectroscopy, which performs high quality urinalysis, analyzing many important parameters in a 100% passive way.

How does urinalysis work with Olive KG?
In addition to the usual parameters collected in urinalysis, the device measures red blood cells, proteins, ketones, nitrites, pH and characteristics such as volume and pressure. It will no longer be necessary to go to a doctor's office or wait weeks for the results: the system generates personalized data in real time, which is transmitted to the patient and to the indicated doctor in a protected form.
“The newly obtained CE marking paves the way for us to the European market,” says a beaming Goldman. “Olive KG is already installed in several clinical facilities in the Netherlands. It will transform the diagnostics and medical assistance in a non-invasive prevention system. It will help patients and healthcare professionals detect disease much earlier, even before symptoms appear. "

Constantly protected
Olive KG's optical sensor allows it to perform the same molecular detection multiple times - people can do urinalysis 5 to 7 times a day. This is a remarkable, continuous monitoring that will be able to detect hundreds of diseases before the development of symptoms.
Wonderful news for those suffering, for example, from kidney stones, dehydration, heart failure and many other ailments, without waiting for symptoms and problems to emerge.
The additional data collected by this machine - exact recording of urination volume, color, pressure, and even time of day - will provide doctors with a sea of additional information and biomarkers.
And do we want to talk about the world of wellness? Nutrition, nutrition, training, many aspects of daily well-being will have an extra precious ally.
However, I had already convinced myself at the farewell of the shot.
Update 3/10/2022: the company announces that it has received the CE marking. It is the prelude to the landing on the European market.
