With world temperatures peaking like never before (and there is little to joke about) we are always looking for new ways to fight the heat. In the past few years I have told about the first steps for the concepts of personal conditioners and specials air-conditioned clothes. Today is the time for other solutions.

The goal of finding warm solutions that "do not increase the heat" is the basis of the creation of Mintie. Mintie is a product of the design company Grant Barnett and it is, in essence, a set of mint dresses. Now I tell you better.

The Mintie project, as mentioned, involves the creation of a “total look”. We start with the first item of clothing, three yoga leggings made with a special fabric "infused" (just like tea) in peppermint. The states that wearing the cool, breathable fabric does not cause itching or discomfort, but reduces the temperature by up to 7ºC (44,6ºF) as it shapes the wearer's body.

Simple and versatile, Mintie can be worn anywhere from the gym to the studio to simply enjoy a long summer day at home.

The secret of the fabric? Xylitol

The company's patented "mint" fabric is called "FrostTech" and integrates food Xylitol. This is the same ingredient found in chewing gum, which helps create a breathable and highly breathable fabric. Xylitol is integrated into the yarn used, ensuring that every inch of the skin feels the refreshing minty freshness, which is activated by moisture.

Mint

For all intents and purposes, just like eating peppermint gum makes your whole mouth feel fresh when combined with saliva, these leggings help your legs feel the same cool when combined with sweat.

The mint fabric also blocks UV rays to reduce skin damage. Made with a Spandex base, the leggings allow for four-way stretch and also feature pockets. They are available in three colors: charcoal, bronze blue and pale mauve.

The project is still in Kickstarter mode, more than a month after its goal expires. Upon reaching 20.000 euros, a mint sports bra will be unlocked.
