Remember jet capsules, that series of mini yachts designed by the Italian design studio Lazzarini? The minimalist approach and versatility really fascinated me, like all the jobs of this study in general.
Today, a few years later, jet capsule unveils its DuePuntoZero line, with a renewed model and another focused on the number of passengers.
Both new models measure 9,5 m in length and are available in fully electric mode. specifically oriented towards transport, the Jet Capsule solution retains all its versatility. It can become a nautical platform of the future, with configurations of all types: from a private boat to a shuttle for 20 passengers.
Jet capsules, versatile transport on water
The structure of these boats is made of a combination of carbon fiber and glass fiber. For lighting, a newly developed LED headlight system offers the possibility of adjusting the intensity and inclination of the light. The front is also equipped with a water surface scanner to avoid the presence of obstacles.
On board, the jet capsule has a protected deck and a dinette, which in the version without toilet can accommodate up to 20 passengers plus a captain. Alternatively, with the addition of a toilet, 16 passengers can be accommodated and there is still room for a wheelchair or luggage compartment.
There is also a more spacious leisure version, designed for just 10 people. Think of it as the nautical equivalent of a private jet.
Jet Capsule price and engines
instead of the double Yanmar engines, there is also the possibility of installing a triple electric motor set up with 450 kW of electric power. with this configuration the boat has the possibility of sailing, docking and maneuvering in full electric mode with speeds of up to 30 knots. a hybrid configuration is also available in the new jet capsule range.
Depending on the power chosen, jet capsule can comfortably navigate at speeds between 35 and 45 knots. In the hyper jet version, the ship can reach over 60 knots.
Both models are equipped with a dual 24.000 BTU air conditioning system. the two point zero (2.0) is sold starting from 500.000 dollars, reaching up to 1 million for the hyper jet version.
