The iconic Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California will turn into a "super site" for COVID-19 vaccinations in nearby Orange County later this week. The reports the CNN . The fairytale city will open its doors to thousands of residents every day awaiting vaccination.
Disneyland Resort, the largest park in the heart of Orange County (and the largest occupancy factor) has come forward to house the county's first major vaccination center. "It is the start of a monumental plan in our vaccination distribution process", says Andrew Do, acting chairman of the county board of supervisors.
It will not be the only "giant" used as a vaccination center
The resort won't be the only "super" vaccination center in the state. Even the Dodger Stadium of Los Angeles and the Petco Park of San Diego will be used to vaccinate Californians.

The news comes after California was hit hard by the ongoing pandemic. According to CNN , over 2.000 people are hospitalized with the virus in Orange County alone, 500 of them in intensive care.
The situation became so bad that officials had to send refrigerated trucks to house the bodies, as the morgues ran out of space to store the bodies. California has decided to distribute the vaccines first to citizens over the age of 75 and to frontline health professionals as part of the "Phase 1a" vaccination plan.
"It is important to vaccinate as many people as possible against Covid, and we need the space to do so," the supervisor said. Donald Wagner in the declaration. "I thank Disneyland Resort for choosing to become a vaccination center, and the city of Anaheim for stepping up their shared effort to provide OC residents with protection against the virus."
