Maintaining your safety is above all else, given the current pandemic, but this decision risks causing quite a bit of discussion.
Everyone wants to be safe. This is why every day millions and millions of tests are conducted regularly to check whether a person is a carrier of a virus or not. However, it may become difficult to recognize whether a person is vaccinated or not, and this is where the idea of a “vaccine passport” comes into play.
The vaccines are not yet fully ready, and authorizations from various health authorities are awaited. In 2021, however, the 'official candidates' of Modern e Pfizer they should be available to anyone who wants to hire them.
Both companies report approximately 95% effectiveness, but these are claims that have been under scrutiny.
A vaccination passport?
In such a scenario, a transition period in which it is not known who is already immunized and who is not will be difficult. The startup Vaccertify had an idea. It is still under construction: it is a prototype capable of providing a sort of vaccination passport. A digital vaccination certificate that is easy to use and available on your smartphone as a sort of "Social Pass".
What does the vaccination passport contain
This sort of “pass” shows the user's name, an image of the user's face, which COVID-19 vaccine they received and when the various doses were completed.
How to obtain the vaccination passport
To get a certificate from Vaccertify, customers will need to complete a Covid vaccination, provide government ID and share a selfie.
Vaccertify is under construction: sure, it includes privacy functions. It means that anyone who wants to see the certificate must have a specific pin to log in and look at it. But it is also true that the creation of a vaccination passport is the first step towards a real "social pass".
An instrument hailed by some, opposed by others
The idea of this digital “social pass”. for Covid-19 vaccines came to Tiara Lyons, co-founder and CEO of the company. She said that when she started looking for a babysitter during a pandemic, it became really difficult to select and trust her.
Tiara couldn't take a babysitter's word, and asking for a medical visit was too intrusive. So Tiara invented the Vaccertify concept, a real vaccine passport.
Will the possession of a certificate mark the distinction between who is accepted or not in society, between who works and who will remain unemployed?
