Access to healthcare services has been mostly limited to telemedicine services in recent months. This is why the architecture studio NBBJ extension has a different vision for the future of healthcare.
The project is called In Car Care, car care. And it does exactly what its name promises, it is a concept for drive-thru clinics where patients can be treated directly by staying in the car.
Mobile care units and… to cross
During the world pandemic of Covid-19drive-in and drive-thru models have become popular beyond fast food restaurants due to their natural aptitude for keeping the right distance between staff and patients.
NBBJ has applied the same format to medical clinics for its vision.
The drive-thru clinic model would allow doctors to treat patients directly in their cars.
The In Car Care unit responds to the situation created by the pandemic, a situation that is preventing people from going to hospital.
Nonetheless, there are obviously still many reasons why people need access to personal care, and they certainly cannot undergo remote treatment.
The In Car Care care unit concept was designed to support the next generation of hospital clinics and help people feel safe while receiving care.
Will solutions such as drive-thru clinics be “institutionalized” and help decongest hospitals?
