A ship full of Alexa arrives: at the event Amazon Today Jeff Bezos' company presented a nice batch of Echo products, two of which can be worn 24 hours a day.
The tendency to stick the Alexa voice assistant almost everywhere (it was recently integrated into Fire Stick remote controls) shows Amazon's strategy. At this moment, it is the company that has brought "voice support" closer to people than any other, and today's products should be seen in this light: Echo Buds, Echo Loop and Echo Frames.
If the new Echo Buds can be seen as an intelligent response to Apple's AirPods, the introduction of a ring and a pair of glasses with Alexa inside them further reduces the distance.
Amazon Day 1
The two new products are part of Amazon Day 1, a program that aims to speed up the market launch of innovative devices. Products available only to invited customers, partners who undertake to try them and send feedback to Amazon. One way to reduce the distance between the customer and the tester.
Echo Loop, Alexa between your fingers
Echo Loop is Amazon's smart ring. It has a titanium structure that houses two microphones, a small speaker and a system that produces vibrations.
Given the equipment, it seems that Amazon has interesting plans for it: it doesn't just have a future as a "companion" for Alexa. A small button on the Echo Loop ring activates it and allows him to interact with the voice assistant, of course, but he will also be able to make calls. Not alone! It's not called "auto loop". Echo Loop has a battery charge in 90 minutes that lasts the whole day.
It's cool, but will it work? In the live demonstration, for example, the button failed. For 129 euros I expect more, if I then think that at the end of the invitational phase it will cost even more, well... There is still work to be done on it. Echo Frames, Alexa in glasses
The Echo Frames, like Echo Loop, integrates Alexa: in a pair of elegantly shaped glasses there are all the functions of Amazon's voice assistant. Plus it plays music from the stems, not bad.
