Il Seedo site it's not that different from a family-friendly e-commerce.

The flagship product Seedo is a sort of hermetic box controlled and managed by an artificial intelligence. This device uses machine learning technology, sensors of various kinds and light systems to feed and herbs, flowers or vegetables.

I bought a similar thing a few months ago, more modest. It's called click & grow: I found it excellent for home herbs (basil in the first place) but disastrous on vegetables and more. Yet the convenience of having a device that acts as a vegetable garden would not throw it away.

Not just basil

In order not to go too far, I will say (as a non-smoker without prejudice) what came to my mind looking at Seedo. I thought that in the United States alone, marijuana is legal in 11 states for "recreational" purposes, and in as many as 22 states for therapeutic purposes.

The AI does more than a box that turns on an LED every 8 hours - my device can't compete. Seedo is networked to a database of plants and locations that allows the system to really grow a plant, changing doses and conditions depending on the context and climate.

For the caring, Seedo even has a "parental control". To avoid, I know, the unwanted ingestion of a very strong pepper by a child. Or who knows what else.

Let's forget about marijuana for a moment: Seedo can obviously be used for herbs, vegetables, flowers with better results than those obtainable by growing in the open air.

It's not cheap, safe: if you buy directly from the company based in Israel, a Seedo costs about 2300 euros, plus 320 shipping, but ensures a return similar to far more organized systems.

With the Seedo comes a complete kit that includes a nutrient pack, two CO2 cylinders, a rock wool grow plate, an air filter, a water filter and the app compatible with both iOS and Android. .

Why the app?

In addition to allowing the monitoring of things like the water level it is literally possible to observe the growth of plants in real time. Seedo hosts up to 5 plants at a time and obtains more lush and rapid growth than average from the plants.

Some specifications

Seedo is a bit bigger than a minibar, weighs about 40kg when empty, consumes 0.24 kilowatt / hour, 1 meter high by 63cm wide.

If you want to grow flowers, fresh herbs or vegetables of variable legality, or even "therapeutic" products, there is the right device for you.
