Very hard times for free-range romantics, who sometimes let themselves be carried away by the impetus of a frivolous, if you like, but overwhelming passion. The sex of the future it will have many relief valves, but it appears that they will not be in public toilets.
Porthcawl, on Scotland's south coast, is to replace public amenities at its Griffin Park with anti-sex toilet models. These systems will have deterrents to avoid “inappropriate sexual activity or vandalism” (how bad to equate things), as the public park channels report.
You got it right: the town of Porthcawl in Scotland can boast of being the first inhabited center equipped with a public bathroom with systems to prevent people from having sex inside it.
The anti-sex bathroom will cost around 200.000 euros, covered by a small entrance fee to the services.
The anti-sex bathrooms will be equipped with alarms, doors that open automatically, threatening messages, special nebulisers to wet the occupants and inevitable movement sensors.
Precisely the latter seem to be the core of the system. They will analyze situations and activate deterrents only in the event of "turbulent actions" or more than one individual in the same bathroom at a time.
Let's not try to be clever by moving slowly and very carefully: pressure sensors on the floor and a "deep automatic cleaning" every 10 minutes will affect even those who remain almost still.
Mike clarke, member of the city council, rejoices: “Rebuilding the public toilets is an important part of our ambitions to make Porthcawl a great place to live and visit.”
Obviously the system lends itself to criticism of all sorts, from those of "cruelty" to accusations of "humiliating users", which have not been lacking since the first announcement of this new system.
A user thunders: “floors with sensors to detect more than one person? What if someone needs assistance going to the bathroom?”. And here's another random tweet against construction.
The current evidently “sex (but also) friendly” bathrooms will be demolished in October. Construction of the new, but I don't know how modern, anti-sex bathroom will begin immediately afterwards.
