Is called Sladda and will be the first mountable bicycle offered by Ikea. The bike of the future, as it has already been defined, will arrive in stores in August and, like all Ikea furniture, will be assembled. It is the first bicycle produced by the Swedish furniture giant that even wants to revolutionize the world of two wheels. Sladda is created in collaboration with the Veryday design studio, and will be available in one color, in two different sizes and can be customized and equipped.
"Sladda is like a tablet with apps," he said Oskar Juhlin, director of industrial design at Veryday - in the sense that it can be customized with different accessories, designed to simplify the needs of the cyclist. Sladda will be able to replace the car and in doing so will contribute to respecting the environment ”.
The price is not exactly cheap, 560 euro, writes the English newspaper, but if you want to use it to replace the car you will have to combine it with a small trailer and at that point the price would rise to about 700 euros. Sladda has a belt transmission instead of the classic chain to avoid rust and is equipped with reverse gear.
