Is called sladda and it will be the first mountable bicycle put on sale by Ikea. The bike of the future, as it has already been defined, will arrive in stores in August and, like all Ikea furniture, will need to be assembled. It is the first bicycle produced by the Swedish furniture giant which actually wants to revolutionize the world of two wheels. Sladda is created in collaboration with the Veryday design studio, and will be available in a single color, in two different sizes and can be customized and accessorized.
“Sladda is like a tablet with apps – he declared Oskar I'm celebrating, director of industrial design at Veryday – in the sense that it can be customized with different accessories, designed to simplify the cyclist's needs. Sladda will be able to replace the car and in doing so will contribute to respecting the environment".
The price is not exactly cheap, 560 euro, writes the English newspaper, but if you want to use it to replace the car you will have to combine it with a small trailer and at that point the price would rise to around 700 euros. Sladda has a belt transmission instead of the classic chain so as to avoid rust and is equipped with a reverse gear.
