Calling it a 'restyling' is humiliating: after extensive renovation work above and under the bonnet, the Hyundai i30 presents itself with a decidedly 'European' and decisive appeal, and gives the readers of Futuroprossimo (and those who write to you first of all) a lot of insights into the innovations that are now part of modern automotive culture. From the multipurpose solutions to the greater possibility of 'customising' the purchase, from the ever greater guaranteed (and perceived) safety to the stylistic innovations, this car convinces from the first glance.
Just to name one, the first thing you notice is the adaptive "double headlight unit" with xenon lights at the top and LED daytime running lights at the bottom: visibility increased dramatically at any time of the day and in all weather conditions. LEDs also present in the rear lights, with quicker activation times for stop lights. To complete the "third eye" of the car, with a spoiler that integrates other lights, there is also the rear camera, which transmits its images directly to the on-board navigator to improve the perception of obstacles and also lend a hand during the parking (in combination with the now inevitable sensors).
And I only talked about the headlights!
I could go into much more detail on the interior layout with the comfort of heated seats (to mitigate the harsh winter) and a refrigerated glove compartment (to cool off the scorching summer with a nice drink). Internal lights with integrated glasses holder, space-saving nets and so on and so forth. The navigator, with its generous 7" touchscreen and the Bluetooth voice recognition system, is the main window onto the world and the sensation of 'breadth' in the central body of vehicle increases when you pay attention to a detail: the handbrake lever is no longer there. It has been replaced by an electronic button. Waiting for a'car you drive for us leaving us time to do what we want, even this seems to me a great convenience :)
I can't write a post as long as Job's beard, and I won't: you better study the choices behind this new release carefully (7 airbags, three steering modes, etc.) and you'll realize how far ahead is the i30 compared to its competitors in that range which once upon a time could even be called "utilitarian" with a lot of flexibility. Enjoyable in the city and snappy over distances, it's truly a pleasure.
Go find it, I found several through the Automobile.it website and I don't rule out buying one: it could be my last "analog" car before the big definitive switch to electric: in case you want a tip, bet on the 1.4 horsepower 97 LPG econext. And if you don't have a lot of "money" but still want to have something valid, even with second-hand items you can get something good out of it: this parent company has become a surprise.
A surprise with a completely new nose.
